Choosing A Venue

What venue to choose?

Are you one of those brides (or grooms) that has been dreaming about your wedding since you were old enough to watch a Disney film and wander around in your mum’s high heels? The fact that you are reading a wedding blog says to me that you probably are. In that case, you have a lot of decisions to make, a lot of things to think about and the world’s biggest Pinterest board.

One of the biggest decisions you will have to make, other than what you are wearing, is the venue. Is your Pinterest full of idyllic festival fields with hay bales and ditzy bunting, or grand stately homes filled with tartan and suits of armour? Or maybe you want a more personal space, your favourite local Greek restaurant, or a friend's back garden?

The problem is that you cannot legally get married just anywhere, a venue must have a wedding license for you to hold a registrar led wedding there and they are quite strict on what venues get a marrige licence (they will not grant your nan’s back garden a marriage licence even if it is the perfect place for you to have a wedding in !!!) and once a location is granted a licence they can charge what they want (I am sure you are beginning to notice that if you put wedding in front of anything the cost quadruples!!!!!!)

So, how do you get around this? How do you have the wedding of your dreams in your dream location???????

The answer is me.

A celebrant-led wedding is the answer to all your problems… If you choose a celebrant-led wedding, then you can get married anywhere at any time with whoever you want: your back garden, a field, the beach, your local bingo hall, as long as it is legal, then you can have your wedding wherever you like and it will cost half the price.

When you choose a celebrant-led wedding, you will go to a registrar to complete the legal marriage documentation and then have a separate wedding in the venue of your dreams at the time you want, you can also choose what you want in your ceremony, how long it will be. This will set the mood and tone for the whole wedding, sophisticated & cool, or laid back & fun.

So if you choose a celebrant-led wedding, then you can have your celebrations in the festival-style field just like the one at the top of your Pinterest page.

If you are not carrying out the legal part of the marriage at your venue, then it does not have to be licensed, so they won't charge as much. They may have never held a wedding there before, so you can negotiate the price and have the catering, DJ, and decorations you want. When you have a ceremony with a celebrant, it can be at any time you want, there are no restrictions. If you want your ceremony at sunrise on a beach, then your celebrant can make it happen. We are not restricted by the legality or time restrictions that a registrar is, so it means that your celebrant-led wedding can be the wedding of your dreams.

So, where would you have your dream wedding??? in your favourite pub, or even on stage at your local theatre? If you have dreamed of getting married on a beach in Bali, then I am the celebrant for you, and yes, I am available!!!!!!
