We have got your back.
It dawned on me this week that the people working in the wedding industry genuinely care; we truly want the best for our couples. I’m not sure any other industry cares for its customers and clients as much as we do.
This is because we have all been there; we know what it’s like to organise a wedding, and we remember how much the little things matter. After all, it can take a village to create the perfect wedding.
This week, I attended a wedding networking meeting—a group of wedding suppliers gathering to discuss how we can reach more couples and improve our services. What do couples want, and how can we help them?
What's different? I hear you ask. All businesses meet to discuss profit and loss; what’s unique about your little gathering?
We have, for starters, the amazing Vicky from @Glamoramakeup, who organises the events. She scours the streets of Liverpool for wonderful wedding venues willing to host a free meeting for wedding folks. Some of them even provide us with tea, coffee, and biscuits (wedding suppliers survive on a diet of caffeine and sugar!)
This week, we met at the fantastic @fabricstudiosliv, an incredible urban space that is truly adaptable for hosting a wedding, memorial, or birthday party—in fact, any event. Upstairs is the equally fantastic @Scale-Liverpool space, where you can truly create a beautiful, bespoke wedding; my imagination was running wild. You can really have what you want—a couple even had a McDonald's Wedding breakfast... so dream big!
When I visit these stunning venues, I just want to get married all over again. The wonderful thing about these events is that we discover new spaces to recommend to our couples, and we meet new vendors who we can connect with the couples we encounter. It’s networking at its best, meeting new fantastic people to recommend to our amazing couples.
I met the very talented @Jamesbennsings, who offers a variety of singing packages for weddings, from ceremony singing to cocktail hour vocals and singing waiters. Now I can confidently recommend him to my couples who are looking for something a little bit different for their wedding. James singing during one of my ceremonies would be the perfect way to start any wedding.
Wedding suppliers often work alone; we are one-person businesses, so it's brilliant to meet up with others. It means that when we meet new couples, we can help them more effectively; we can recommend a brilliant supplier that we love and think they will love, making the process easier for everyone. So, when you choose your first wedding supplier, whether it’s the venue or a florist, ask them who they recommend. If you love their work, you will likely love the work of the people they recommend. I don’t know a peony from a petunia, but I know someone who does: @norwegianwoodflorist.
So, thank you, @LiverpoolWeddingNetwork, for helping me to help my beautiful couples...
And those of you who joined me today to learn about ring warming... you cheeky lot! Ring warming is a beautiful, simple, symbolic act where your wedding rings are passed around the whole congregation during the service, allowing everyone to bless them and say something positive before they are returned to you—blessed and warmed by all your loved ones. So, nothing inappropriate or crude, just a really beautiful addition to your wedding ceremony. Have a lovely week, everyone, and I hope the sunny weather stays with us over the bank holiday weekend.
