Wedding Trends 2026

🌸 Colour, Twilight Magic & Celebrant-Led Ceremonies

If you’re planning your 2026 wedding, you’re in for a treat! The upcoming season is full of creativity, colour, and a touch of celestial romance. Couples are breaking away from the traditional “white wedding” mould, and instead designing days that feel personal, relaxed, and deeply meaningful. Here’s a look at the top trends taking over weddings in 2026.💕

White will always be timeless, but 2026 is the year when brides (and grooms!) are embracing colour in the most stunning ways. Think soft blush, champagne gold, sky blue, sage green, and even dramatic tones like midnight navy or deep rose. Designers are celebrating individuality, and coloured gowns are leading the way. These hues photograph beautifully in natural light and allow couples to express their personality. Coordinating with subtly coloured suits or accessories for your partner adds a lovely touch harmony. When I got married 25 years ago i wore a deep purple dress and I felt wonderful in it and whenevr i see a bride in a cooured dress i think go girl, you look brilliant.

This year we saw a lot of men in green suits, the new trend seems to be towards the jewel colours, rich reds, plus and purples, so may be my dress will be n fashion!!

Bonus trend? Floral embroidery and shimmering metallic details; perfect for a modern fairy-tale look.

Move over, midday ceremonies, twilight weddings are stealing the spotlight! As the sun sets, the atmosphere becomes softer, more romantic, and utterly magical. Imagine exchanging vows under a canopy of twinkling fairy lights, lanterns glowing, and guests gathered in that golden-hour glow.

Couples love this timing for several reasons: it’s cooler for summer celebrations, it flows naturally into an evening reception, and it gives photographers a chance to capture those dreamy sunset shots. Plus, you can embrace lit decor and soft candlelight to create an enchanting ambience. A twilight wedding can also offer flexibility. You can get legally married in the morning or the day before, with parents or children witnessing, spend the day relaxing at a spa, then have a twilight wedding and party with everyone there. The next day you can have a laid-back brunch… couples are definitely moving towards a deconstructed wedding, 2026 will be the year of couples doing it the way they want, not the way tradition had dictated.✨

More couples in 2026 are opting for celebrant-led weddings to personalise their ceremonies. Unlike traditional officiants, a celebrant collaborates with you to create a ceremony that reflects your story, beliefs, and sense of humour. You can incorporate meaningful rituals, such as handfasting, unity candles, or even a favourite poem read by a loved one, and you’re not restricted to formal scripts or specific locations. Want to marry in a forest clearing, on a rooftop, or in your family garden? A celebrant can make it happen with warmth and authenticity. This approach places you at the centre of the day, and guests often remark on how personal and moving these ceremonies feel.

Weddings in 2026 focus on freedom; choosing colour over tradition, twilight over midday, and individuality over formality. Whether you walk down the aisle in a dreamy shade of lavender, say your vows as the stars come out, or create a ceremony that is entirely you, the message is clear: there are no rules, only love.

So go ahead : plan boldly, celebrate joyfully, and make your 2026 wedding your most magical chapter yet.
